The Pick 6 may mean a single ticket will pay millions. You can enter the Players' Pool and be a part of the action. The pool closes on Saturday, June 6th, 2009 at 9:00 AM (ET) or once the cap of 50,000.00 is reached. This will be in time to enter the ticket for the approximate 1:55 PM start of the first race in the Pick 6. A ticket will be displayed at approximately 1:00 PM the day of the races so you can follow the selections of the experts. The minimum is $10, you let our experts pick the horses and build a ticket based on the amount of money in the pool. Here is your chance to get in on the Players' Pool.

Your ticket and winning percentage will be based on the amount of money you put into the pool and the selections of three renowned handicappers. The team will be led by captain Rich Nilsen, an original member of the Pick-6 Players' Pool which to date has cashed for pre-tax winnings of over $1.2 million.

Pick 6 Players' Pool Experts Panel for the
Pick 6 (Saturday, June 6th, 2009)

Rich Nilsen started following racing at age 7 going to the race tracks in New York with his father. He later moved to Kentucky to attend the University of Louisville Equine program. Rich is a four-time handicapping tournament winner, has managed a racing stable for over 10 years, and is a member of the previous America Tab Pick-6 Players' Pools.

He leads a panel of three experts that will be making the selections on that day.

A member of the Brisnet.com Handicappers Hall of Fame, Ron Ruchtie has cashed in over 75 winning Pick Sixes since he began playing in 1988. His largest was a lone Pick Six for $197,000 at Bay Meadows in 1999. He was featured in the April 2001 issue of Handicapping Times and has had continued success with these wagers.
A Brisnet.com member since 1988, Stanley Bavlish used his knowledge and expertise to capture the 2007 National Handicapping Championship. Stanley is a serious horseplayer who focuses most of his bets on multi-race wagers. An avid Ultimate PP and software datafile user, Stanley brings a wealth of experience to the Pick-6 Player's Pool.

Entries for the Players’ Pool are now available online. You can put in the dollar value for your ticket, then let the pool determine the number of combinations for the Pick Six. The ticket combinations will be determined by the panel. The off-time for the Belmont' Pick Six is scheduled for 2:33 PM (ET), the pool will close on Saturday, June 6th, 2009 at 9:00 AM (ET) to give the experts enough time to finalize their selections and place the bets.

There is no guarantee for winning. All winnings will be based on a percentage of your amount put into the pool and the size of the pool.

Here’s how the Pick Six Players' Pool will work:

  • Enter the pool by entering your account information and the amount of money you want to put into the pool. There will be a special entry link and will not appear as a tote wager from the wagering screen.
  • There is a $10 minimum amount to enter the pool. There is no maximum. Amounts will be in increments of $10 from a drop-down selection. The increment will shift to $50 values for larger amounts. Multiple combinations and entries will be allowed.
  • An announcement will be made when the pool will be open and it will close on Saturday, June 6th, 2009 at 9:00 AM.
  • Your percentage of winnings will be based on the amount of the pool in the Players' Pool. There is no guarantee of winning.
  • Enter multiple times. There are no restrictions on adding money to your portion of the pool account.
  • Live combinations will be posted after each race.
  • All winnings will be put back into the pool and 100% of the pool winnings will be paid out to participants on Wednesday, October 31st. There is no takeout in the Players' Pool.

Example:
You put in the minimum $10 and the pool grows to $10,000. The experts have the lone Pick Six winner worth $1,000,000.

Your winning percentage is 0.001 (10/10,000) of the total winning ticket worth $1,000,000. You would win $1,000 (0.001 X 1,000,000).
